Problems with Dirty Boilers

Boilers get dirty as the solids in the make-up water concentrate in the boiler. Concentrated solids cause high maintenance & failures as the result of :

Scale Formation - reduces heat transfer; causes tube burns.
Carry-over - causes dirty steam which damages turbines, traps, product, etc.
Corrosion - of boiler & piping.
Embrittlement - causes metal failure.

Keep Your Boiler Clean By...

Chemically Treating Boiler Water - Untreated make-up water can produce scale in the boiler and auxiliary equipment. Chemical treatment alone is not enough. Chemically increase boiler solids.
Blowing Down The Boiler - To eliminate solids at the same rate as they are added. Periodic Bottom Blow is Not Sufficient - Or Efficient. Concentration is never reduced enough. And there is no practical way to save the blowdown heat loss.
